To put the heart back in gaming. That's why I started MillzFlickzProductions.
I'm disgusted with videogames today. The majority of console games is riddled with wave after wave of first person shooter, with protagonist about as deep as a puddle. Why is it so rare to have a game with characters you truly care about? With plotlines that actually hold your interest? While there are some gems out there, developers for the most part fear the act of taking risk.
This is most upsetting.
Risk taking is how we progress, churning out regurgitations of time-tested ideas is how we dwell in the past, stay static in an ever changing world.While it seems "safe" to go with what you know, a "proven" method, this will not yield new and original content, and by extension, will never captivate audiences to it's full potential.
My goal in starting this "inde" game studio is to put originality back in gaming. To make losing all your lives mean something. To have players feel again. Why do we play games? Because our lives are boring. Real life kinda sucks. Why then do so many strive for realism? Why try to recreate that which you are trying to escape in the first place? Art direction and style can portray emotions far beyond what we give it credit to show.
